Murray worked for British Telecom for 36 years, including a 3 year secondment to the position of COO for a Joint Venture in Switzerland, before setting up his own consultancy company in March 2000.

Whilst in Switzerland, with an annual budget of £42M, Murray was responsible for design, installation and maintenance of a new national telecoms network and associated IT systems. Murray’s background is mainly in Senior Management of Network Planning and Operations, including Operational Support Systems (OSS) and during his career he managed successfully significant downsizing, process re-engineering and recovery from two significant disasters.

For the last few years Murray has consulted for a Private Venture Capital company based in New York doing Due Diligence work on potential investment in high-tech early stage companies in the following countries: UK; Ireland; The Netherlands; Germany; Finland; Canada; Turkey; USA and Sardinia.

Murray was born and brought up in Aberdeen, Scotland but has spent the bulk of the last 23 years living in Yorkshire. He has run his own Management Consultancy business successfully since August 2000, providing hands-on business support that works. He is on the Yorkshire Forward, Yorkshire and Humber Suppliers Register.
