Born and educated in Leicester, Peter completed a degree at Loughborough University before spending a further five years training in the Accountancy profession. With the opportunity to move into the technology industry, he trained with IBM and has held senior positions in the software and services sector in Nottingham and Leicester during the 1980’s and 90’s. Joining a Nuneaton based IBM Business Partner in 1990, he was invited to become shareholder and Director in 1993 and contributed to their growth from small software company, with turnover of around £1million, to IBM Premier Business Partner with four offices, over 130 staff and turnover exceeding £14million. He left in 1998 after the trade sale of the Company to a large American software business.

After two further roles, as Sales and Marketing Director for another IBM Premier Business Partner in Cirencester and Business Development Director for a software and services Company in Leicester, he chose to establish Oakbridge Associates in 2002 and use his considerable business development experience in supporting the Owners and Directors of small and medium sized businesses across the Midlands area. In October 2002, he became an Accredited Associate of the Institute for Independent Business and for two years was Chairman of the IIB East Midlands Region.

In 2003, he became involved with leading local Social Enterprise,STRIDE, and has been actively involved with their considerable growth since then. Peter joined the Board of STRIDE in 2004 and continues to provide on-going advice and support. They were winners of the Leicestershire Business Awards in 2005 and were Royal Bank of Scotland 20th Fastest growing Social Enterprise in the UK in the same year.  In the same year, he was also invited onto the judges panel for the Leicestershire Young Enterprise awards.

 

He is now also an EMDA approved High Growth Business Coach working with ambitious high growth companies across the Midlands and also works closely with Connect Midlands in delivering their Pathfinder strategic development programme. Peter has used these programmes alongside his Strategic Planning programme, Vision Management, to develop and support many clients across the Midlands area.
