It is clear that UK business is being increasingly challenged to reduce its impacts on the environment. Regulations and taxation are pushing this change and society as a whole expects it. To be successful in the future, businesses will have to monitor and carefully manage their environmental impacts. In short, they will need to be resource efficient.

This situation brings opportunities for competitiveness and growth for those companies which are proactive. Lean green businesses are likely to be the leaders in the coming years.

“Businesses are beginning to realise that good environmental performance can have positive effects on their profits, reputations and society as a whole.” – The Environment Agency

“Many companies think of energy as a fixed overhead but saving energy is actually one of the easiest ways to reduce costs and improve your reputation.” – Carbon Trust

“Resource efficiency is not just an environmental initiative, it is also an important business process that could potentially save your organisation a lot of money.” – Envirowise
